Meet our Founders

Pat and Terry founded AZRSOL shortly after their son was arrested for a crime that never happened and was wrongfully sentenced to 75 years in prison. They learned first-hand that the fear surrounding sexual harm, which is firmly ingrained in our culture, was not protecting our children as promised, but instead was destroying lives and ruining families.

Amongst other things, they discovered that those incarcerated for a sexual offense were permitted to visit their children while they were in prison, but upon release, probation OFTEN forbids any minor contact, including with their own children and grandchildren.

The more they learned of the unnecessary suffering imposed upon people on a sexual offense registry under the false claim of "public safety," the more they knew they needed to do something.

They created AZRSOL to empower people on the Arizona sexual offense registry and their loved ones to improve their lives and to seek an end to public registries through education, advocacy, and support.

NARSOL

AZRSOL is the Arizona affiliate of The National Association for Rational Sexual Offense Laws (NARSOL). NARSOL envisions a society free from public shaming, dehumanizing registries, discrimination, and unconstitutional laws. They maintain an informative and useful resources page.

THEIR  MISSION

NARSOL opposes dehumanizing registries and works to eliminate discrimination, banishment and vigilantism against persons accused or convicted of sexual offenses through the use of impact litigation, public education, legislative advocacy and media outreach in order to reintegrate and reconcile affected individuals and restore their constitutional rights.
